John Jones serves as the principal executive officer for GuideStone Funds®, which includes overseeing and leading the Fund Management team. He is also the executive vice president and chief operating officer for GuideStone Financial Resources®, the parent organization of GuideStone Funds, and serves on GuideStone's Committee on Socially Responsible Investing.
Mr. Jones joined GuideStone in 1989 as the chief investment officer of GuideStone Capital Management, LLC®, the investment adviser to GuideStone Funds. In this role, he was responsible for leading the Portfolio Management team in the oversight of GuideStone's performance-driven, values-based mutual funds. After several successful years, Mr. Jones was promoted to his current position as chief operating officer of GuideStone Financial Resources and elected as president of GuideStone Funds in 2001.
Prior to assuming his responsibilities at GuideStone, Mr. Jones held the position of senior vice president and head of the Institutional Trust Division for InterFirst Bank, currently Bank of America. He also has prior experience with a major life insurance company in the development, marketing and administration of employee benefit plans.
Mr. Jones holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where he now serves as an associate board member for the Cox School of Business. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® and Chartered Life Underwriter® designations.
GuideStone Capital Management®
David Spika leads GuideStone Capital Management, LLC®, the investment adviser to GuideStone Funds®and serves as Executive Vice President to GuideStone Funds. He also sits on the Executive Leadership team for the parent company, GuideStone Financial Resources®, chairs the firm’s Faith-Based Investing Committee and oversees the management of unregistered alternative investments held by the firm.
Mr. Spika joined GuideStone in May 2015 as the global investment strategist, where he was responsible for developing and communicating the firm’s macroeconomic outlook, while also leading the asset allocation efforts for the GuideStone retirement strategies. Additionally, he participated in client-facing activities as well as interviews with CNBC and other financial media.
Before joining GuideStone, he served for 12 years as the senior vice president and investment strategist at Westwood Holdings Group. Prior to Westwood, he was with Bank of America and predecessor banks for 17 years, primarily as a portfolio manager and investment specialist.
Mr. Spika holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Texas A&M University. Mr. Spika is a CFA® charterholder and a member of both the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Dallas/Ft Worth.
Chief Investment Officer
GuideStone Capital Management®
Matt Peden is responsible for overseeing the investment management philosophy and process of GuideStone Capital Management, LLC®, a Registered Investment Adviser that provides advisory services to GuideStone Funds® and GuideStone Advisors®. He chairs GuideStone Financial Resources' Investment Strategy Group and is a member of the Committee on Faith-Based Investing.
Prior to assuming the responsibilities of chief investment officer in April 2015, Mr. Peden served in a variety of investment roles at GuideStone® since he joined the team in 1996. Most recently, he was the director of portfolio management, where he was responsible for portfolio management and fund construction. He also oversaw all fund managers and investment research activities. Before coming to GuideStone, Mr. Peden served as assistant vice president in the Fixed Income Department of Southwest Securities, Inc.
Mr. Peden earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of North Texas and a Master of Business Administration from Texas Christian University, where he graduated with honors. He is a CFA® charterholder, and his professional affiliations include the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Dallas-Fort Worth, where he previously served as president and received a distinguished member award.

Tim Bray is a principal leader of the manager research and selection process for GuideStone Capital Management, LLC®, including our ongoing monitoring and due diligence. Mr. Bray also maintains primary responsibility for the portfolio construction of non-registered strategies, including alternative strategies, on GuideStone's platform.
Since he came to GuideStone® in January 2006, Mr. Bray has progressed through a variety of investment roles, each with increasing responsibility. Most recently, he led the qualitative and quantitative analysis of current and prospective investment managers, with a specific emphasis on alternative assets.
Mr. Bray earned a Bachelor of Arts in management information systems from Texas Tech University and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Arlington. He holds the Chartered Due Diligence Analyst designation and is a CFA® charterholder as well as a member of the CFA Society of Dallas-Fort Worth and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association®.

Brandon Pizzurro is the primary portfolio manager for all equity, fixed income, real asset, asset allocation and Target Date Funds within the GuideStone Funds® lineup of registered mutual funds. In this capacity, he directs manager research, selection, ongoing monitoring and due diligence and is responsible for leading the Analyst Research team and investment process of GuideStone Capital Management, LLC®.
Mr. Pizzurro joined GuideStone® in 2017 as a senior investment analyst, where he performed quantitative and qualitative analysis, including research and recommendations regarding fund structure and composition, on GuideStone’s non-U.S. equity, asset allocation and Target Date Funds. Prior to assuming his responsibilities at GuideStone, Mr. Pizzurro served as senior investment analyst at First Command Financial Services, where he chaired the Investment Strategy and Research Committee and worked on the team responsible for the firm’s $11 billion discretionary model portfolio flagship program. Prior to First Command, Mr. Pizzurro was financial consulting director at 1st Global, where he helped to develop the firm’s discretionary model portfolio program and led the group’s research efforts for alternative investments, including private and public non-traded real estate investment trusts (REITs), hedge fund of funds and private equity fund of funds.
Mr. Pizzurro holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a double major in finance and real estate from Baylor University. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificant and a member of both the CFA® Institute and the CFA Society of Dallas/Fort Worth.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ and federally registered CFP (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s Initial and ongoing certification requirements.
Director, Head of Intermediary Distribution
Will Lofland leads the sales efforts for the GuideStone Funds® lineup of registered mutual funds. In addition, Mr. Lofland oversees GuideStone’s shareholder advocacy strategy and represents the firm as a participant in the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility.
Mr. Lofland joined GuideStone® in 2014 as the manager of institutional sales, where he was responsible for direct institutional sales and financial advisor outreach, including establishing firm-level relationships and expanding awareness of the GuideStone Funds brand in the financial advisor marketplace. Prior to assuming his responsibilities at GuideStone, Mr. Lofland was a wholesaler with Fidelity Institutional Asset Management. Prior to Fidelity, he served as a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch, the Wealth Management division of Bank of America, and spent time at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas in the Economic Research area.
Mr. Lofland holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Baylor University.
Melanie Childers leads the Fund Administration and Operations team within GuideStone Capital Management, LLC®, and manages the day-to-day operational aspects of the advisory portion of the business, including work associated with GuideStone Funds®. She oversees all third-party providers, such as the fund administrator, fund accountant, transfer agent, custodian and securities lending agent. Ms. Childers supervises the establishment and maintenance of third-party platform and intermediary relationships. She maintains ultimate responsibility for SEC filings coordinated by the department while also providing leadership and direction regarding the various boards to which GuideStone® reports.
Prior to joining GuideStone in 1997, Ms. Childers served as an account manager at Fidelity Investments where she supported the client relationship function for several large retirement plans. Since coming to GuideStone, she has held a variety of positions in both relationship management and fund operations, each with increasing levels of responsibility.
Ms. Childers holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in information systems from Baylor University.

Patrick Pattison serves as the principal financial officer for GuideStone Funds®. He is also the chief accounting officer for GuideStone Financial Resources®, the parent organization of GuideStone Funds.
Since he came to GuideStone® in 2001, Mr. Pattison has progressed through a variety of finance and accounting roles, each with increasing responsibility. Prior to his tenure at GuideStone, Mr. Pattison served as an auditor for Ernst & Young.
Mr. Pattison earned both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in accounting from Texas Tech University.
